G4 Engineering and Project Services (Pty) Ltd. is proud to announce that we have been awarded the main EPCM contract for the design, engineering, implementation, and commissioning of the new Thaba JV Upgrade Project.
The Thaba JV is a Joint Venture between Sylvania Metals and Limberg Mining and involves the upgrade and eventual operation of the Thaba Mine Plant Complex.


The plant currently consists of a run-of-mine crushing and screening circuit and a primary chrome beneficiation plant where chrome concentrate is produced.
The high level scope of work for the plant upgrade comprises of the following:
- Upgraded ROM Crushing and Screening Circuit
- New Primary Ball Mill Circuit
- Upgraded Primary Chrome Plant (Spiral Plant)
- New Secondary Ball Mill Circuit
- New Historic Tailings Re-Mining Circuit
- New Fine Chrome Classification Circuit
- New Secondary Chrome Plant
- New Chrome and Final Tailings Thickeners
- New 2-stage PGM Flotation Plant (MF1 and MF2 circuits)
- Bulk Service Upgrades (Water, HV/MV Supply)
- New Tailings Storage and Return Water Facility
- Upgrade to Infrastructure (roads, offices, workshops)

To ensure the successful completion within the approved time and budget, G4eps will be responsible for the overall project and construction management of the project.
G4eps is further directly responsible for the execution of all civil works, structural steel, platework, mechanical equipment and piping as well as integration of all other disciplines.
