Agbaou Gold approached G4 Engineering and Project Services to perform a feasibility study and cost estimate for the addition of a second Knelson Concentrator, located within the milling circuit.
The scope of the process intervention was to provide for new piping to allow the cyclone underflow for a second cyclone to report to the existing Gravity Scalping Screen, which performs a guard function ahead of the gravity concentration stage, performed by the Knelson Concentrator. The Gravity Scalping Screen Underpan was then to be modified to include the ability to split the screen undersize between the two Knelson Concentrators, as well as to allow automated by-pass of each or both units. Further to this, the project would allow for handling of the tailings of the gravity concentration stage to the combined mill discharge sump and for the concentrate to Gekko Feed Hopper.
